A registration and inspection system for domestic wastewater treatment systems will be launched on Tuesday next 26th June by Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, Phil Hogan. The purpose of the new system is to protect ground and surface water quality, particularly drinking water sources, from the risks posed by malfunctioning systems. All owners of premises connected to a wastewater treatment system are required to register their systems.
Application forms and further information will be available from Sligo County Council following the national launch.
