Sligo Peace and Reconciliation Partnership Committee has advertised their Round 2 funding with a closing date of the 18th June 2012. Contractors and project partners who were successful from Round 1 will receive their contracts and service level agreements in May. Examples of activities which will be taking place include information sessions on the political history of the area, focus on the ‘Big Houses’ of Co. Sligo as a means of understanding the history of the area, series of events which will involve direct contact between members of the Traveller and settled communities to help improve community relations, programme of cross border activities, the use of arts and drama to engage people, Intercultural Family Day, African Day celebrations and celebration of Anti-racism week. The PEACE III Programme is funded through the European Regional Development Fund managed for the Special EU Programmes Body by Sligo County Council on behalf of Sligo Peace and Reconciliation Partnership Committee.
