Cathaoirleach Commends Phoenix Players
The Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council Councillor Michael Fleming has commended the Phoenix Players on reaching the All Ireland Drama Festival for 2012. ‘The Phoenix Players have been a valued presence in Tubbercurry and South Sligofor over sixty years, and their contribution to the world of amateur theatre has been acknowledged at local and national level.
They have an exceptional track record, and their qualification for the All Ireland Drama Festival is the latest in a list of outstanding achievements. Great credit is due to producer Peter Davey, the cast and back-stage team, and I wish them every success on stage in Shercock on 27th April.’
