The Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council Councillor Gerry Murray has hosted a reception for Emma Hansberry to honour her achievement in being called to the Ireland u-17 Ladies Soccer team. In his address the Cathaoirleach said ‘Emma can take great pride in her many achievements. Her progress in such a short space of time has been remarkable, including scoring on her international debut with the Ireland Schoolgirls team. She can look forward to her future career with confidence and ambition.’

The Cathaoirleach also paid tribute to ‘the special people at Strand Celtic who made this possible. While the international call-up reflects great credit on Emma, it is also a cause of pride and celebration in the Strand Celtic family.
