Boatmakers Adze Presented to Museum

Mr. Eoghan Ryan, Clare Road, Ennis presented a boat maker’s adze to Sligo Museum recently. The adze belonged to his late wife, Carmel Ryan, formerly McCarrick. It was used by Mrs Ryan’s father and uncle, John and Edward McCarrick who were boat builders in Riverside, Sligo. 

Mr. Ryan presented the adze with a holding case to Sligo Museum in accordance with the wishes of his late wife and in memory of her parents John and Kathleen McCarrick (nee Timoney).

- Eoghan Ryan presents the adze to Angela McGurrin, Sligo County Museum & County Librarian, Donal Tinney. The adze is now on display in the County Museum, Stephen St., Sligo
