Sligo Bike Week 2018 was officially launched by Cathaoirleach Seamus Kilgannon on Thursday 7th June, and was attended by Elected Members, Sligo County Council staff members, representatives from Sligo Sport and Recreation Partnership, North West Adventure Tours, Innisfree Wheelers Cycling Club and Sligo Cycling Campaign.

Bike Week 2018, which is a National week to celebrate cycling, takes place from 9th to 17th June. A Weeklong festival of events has been organised throughout Sligo Town and County, with a very diverse range of activities, catering for all abilities.  Activities include leisure cycles, Kids fun days, mountain biking and cycle training for beginners. Cycle to work day is on Wednesday 20th June and a lunchtime cycle, including lunch, is taking place at Doorly Park on that day. 

Bike Week aims to promote cycling as a fun, inclusive and environmentally friendly mode of transport.
