Putting The Customer First
As part of its ongoing commitment to provide a quality service to the Sligo public, Sligo County Council provides a Customer Services Desk at its headquarters at County Hall, Riverside. The ‘desk’ offers a first point of contact both for telephone callers and visitors, and enables Sligo County Council to provide an informed and prompt customer response.
According to Director of Corporate Services Ms Dorothy Clarke ‘We expect our services to be evaluated to the highest standards, and by delivering a front-line Customer oriented facility, we aim to provide a more effective and efficient service to the general public. We see the introduction of a Customer Services Desk as an important development in Sligo County Council’s ongoing objective to provide a quality customer service.
‘The Customer Services Desk is the focal point of our effort to improve and stream-line our service to the public of County Sligo. This is a major undertaking by the Council; we provide well in excess of 400 identifiable services, and we are determined to ensure that these services are delivered promptly and efficiently.’
In tandem with the introduction of the Customer Services Desk, the Council introduced a communications tracking system called e-Direct. This system is intended to streamline the processing of written enquiries to ensure correspondence is acknowledged and dealt with as quickly as possible.
