Sligo County Council is pleased to welcome a funding allocation of €282,000 for the county’s Local Improvement Schemes.
Cathaoirleach Welcomes Announcement on Local Improvement Schemes
The Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council, Councillor Seamus Kilgannon, said ‘While the funding allocated will only deliver a small number of all the Schemes proposed for Sligo, the reintroduction of this source of funding after an absence of a number of years is good news.’
The Council awaits detailed information of the funding allocated to assess what schemes will be delivered. All schemes have to be completed and funds drawn down by early December 2017, which will be very challenging for the Roads Section of the Council.
The Council hopes that this source of funding will a feature of Road Programmes for future years, and the significant number of schemes not successful this time around will be given priority in future applications to be submitted.
