Christmas Tree Disposal

ReduceReuseRecycle

If you are wondering what to do with your Christmas tree when you take it down this year why not recycle it. The Ballisodare Composting Facility is now taking used Christmas trees for a minimal charge of €3. The trees are then processed and turned into a peat free compost which is then sold to the public.

The Ballisodare Composting Facility is situated at Young Quarry, Ballisodare and is operated by the Ballisodare Community Council in conjunction with Sligo County Council.

 The opening times are Tuesday to Friday 10:00am - 1:00pm and 2:00pm - 4:00pm and on a Saturday from 10:00am - 2:00pm.

The Green Star Civic Amenity centre at Deep water Quay, Sligo is also taking old christmas trees for a charge of €5.
