Temporary Closing of section of the N59
Sligo County Council will be undertaking a Road Pavement Recycling scheme on the bog rampart in the Townland of Camcuill (approximately 3km west of Dromore West). The works include the upgrading of the existing road pavement with some drainage works.
The N59 National Secondary Road will be closed to public traffic from a point 385m north east of the junction with the L-6413-18 to a point 394m south west of the junction with the L-6707-0. The period of closure is between 9.30 a.m. on Monday, 14th May 2018 and 8.00pm on Monday, 25th June 2018, both dates inclusive. Local access will be provided to residents only. This road closure is necessary to facilitate road reconstruction works in the townland of Camcuill.
Users of this road are requested to follow the signed diversion route via the Coast Road (R297 and R298); Turn at N59 / R297 junction in Dromore West travelling west via Easkey Village to the junction with the R298 in the Townland of Cloonaderavally. Then travel south via the R298 to the junction with the N59 in the townland of Carrownurlar.
Traffic management will be in place in Easky Village to facilitate the flow of traffic in the village. Coning will be in place on one side of the road to prevent parking.
Sligo County Council would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience that may arise as a result of the proposed works and advise people to allow additional time for their journeys.
