Lion's Mane Jellyfish

Lion's Mane Jellyfish

In recent weeks, unusually high numbers of the Lion's Mane Jellyfish have been reported along the whole west coast of Ireland from Donegal to Kerry.

They have been also been sighted off the Sligo coast and have been washed up on the shore in Enniscrone, Strandhill, Coney Island, Rosses Point, Lissadell, Streedagh and Mullaghmore.

Anyone who is considering getting in to the sea is advised to be careful and to visit beaches where lifeguards are on duty.
